Regulatory & Compliance Context

Under the amended Energy Conservation Act, the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme establishes binding greenhouse gas emission intensity targets for notified obligated entities, with shortfalls to be met through carbon credit certificates or penalty. Sector coverage, target years and target values are notified by Government and updated periodically — your specific obligation and timeline must be confirmed against the current notification for your sector. We do that confirmation as the first step of any CCTS engagement rather than assuming carry-over from a previous cycle.
